IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA AT
CHANDIGARH CRWP No. 7020 of 2020 DATE OF DECISION : 14.09.2020 Manav Chopra
...Petitioner
Versus
State of Punjab and others
...Respondents
CORAM : HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE ARUN MONGA Present :
Mr. Ashish Aggarwal, Advocate, for the petitioner.
Mr. Sidakmeet Sandhu, AAG, Punjab.
(Presence marked through video conference).
ARUN MONGA, J. (ORAL) Petitioner herein seeks issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing official respondents to protect his life and liberty and his family members from the hands of private respondents No.5 and 6 so that they may not become a victim of subjugation and violence inflicted upon them by the accused persons. Further prayer has been made to direct the official respondents for conducting an impartial probe into the complaint made by the petitioner.
Prima facie, it seems that there is civil dispute between the parties. Accordingly, no interference is called for under extra ordinary jurisdiction of this Court. The petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to seek his alternative remedies, as may be available, in accordance with law. It is, however, made clear that disposal of this petition shall not be construed to mean that official respondents/competent authority would not look into the pending representation dated 29.07.2020 (Annexure P-1) submitted by the petitioner, in case any genuine grievance is made out. Disposed of accordingly.
