The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of directions to respondents No.2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of petitioners at the hands of respondent No.4 and other family members.

Learned counsel for the petitioners contends that the petitioners, both consenting adults, fell in love and decided to live together. They informed their families of their decision, but faced strong objections due to their families' orthodox views and concerns about social reputation and traditional marriage customs. Despite efforts to explain that they are well-settled, mature individuals with future goals, the families continued to oppose their live-in relationship and the said relationship is not acceptable to respondent No.4 and other family members and they are threatening the petitioners with dire consequences. CRWP-4608-2025 from respondent No.4 and other family members and in this regard, submitted a representation dated 03.05.2025 (Annexure P-3) to respondent No.2 but no action has been taken so far. 3.
Notice of motion to the official respondents only. 4.
Ms. Geeta Sharma, DAG, Haryana, who is present in Court, accepts notice for the official respondents. Learned counsel for the petitioners is directed to supply a copy of complete paper book to learned State counsel during course of the day. 5.
Without commenting on the relationship of the petitioners and entering upon an exercise to evaluate the evidentiary value of the documents placed on the file, I dispose of this petition with direction to respondent No.2 to decide the representation of the petitioners (Annexure P-3) within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and grant them protection, if there is any threat to their life and liberty in accordance with law. 6.
It is made clear that this order shall not be taken to protect the petitioners from legal action for violation of law, if any committed by them.
