An e-mail was sent by Mohd. Rehan to the Hon'ble Chief Justice of this Court, which has been taken on judicial side. In the e-mail, it is stated by the petitioner that his friend namely Laalu Kumar, aged 10-11 years resident of Street No.5, Daba Road, Sherpur, near Nirmal Palace, Ludhiana, has been illegally picked up by the police of P.S.Salem Tabri, Ludhiana on 10.10.2015 at about 10.00 A.M. from New Sabzi Mandi, Ludhiana and he is in illegal custody of the said police and it is apprehended that he shall be implicated in some false case.

Notice of motion was issued and learned State counsel was directed to get conducted the enquiry regarding detenue Laalu Kumar.

CRWP No.1518 of 2015 -2The status report by way of affidavit of Assistant Commissioner of Police (North), Ludhiana has been filed. It is stated in the affidavit that in compliance of the order passed by this Court, in order to ascertain whether the alleged detenue Laalu Kumar is residing with his parents or not, various persons of the locality including the Councillor and President of the Mohalla were asked about Laalu Kumar but it was revealed that no person by the name of Laalu Kumar is residing in the entire area. It is also stated in the affidavit that various persons of the Mohalla were asked about the present petitioner but it was revealed that there is no person in the entire area by the name of the petitioner.

Keeping in view the facts and circumstances and in view of the status report, the present criminal writ petition stands disposed of as no further action is required in this case.
