ARUN MONGA, J. (ORAL) This is a petition for grant of anticipatory bail to petitioner in FIR No.362 dated 02.08.2020 under Section 304 IPC registered at Police Station City Barnala, District Barnala.

FIR allegations first. One Balvir Singh stated that his son Dhanpal Singh was a drug addict. On 01.08.2020 at about 4/5 PM, one unknown person came. He was having some intoxicant substance in a polythene and handed over the same to his son and went away. His son also left the house along with the intoxicant substance but did not return. On next day morning, he came to know that dead body of his son is lying on the terrace of Kotha of Major Dass. He, along with Gurpreet Singh, went to the spot and found that dead body of his son was lying there. His son had earlier also taken drugs on the said terrace. His son dies due to over doze of the intoxicant substance supplied to his son by the unknown person, SONU 2020.09.11 02:34 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that petitioner has been falsely implicated in the case. Neither the petitioner has been named in the FIR, nor any role has been attributed to him. He further submits that petitioner has been named in the FIR only on the basis of disclosure statement made by the coaccused. The petitioner is ready and willing to join the investigation. 4.

Mr. Sidakmeet Sandhu, AAG, Punjab who has joined the proceedings on service of advance copy of the petition, appears on behalf of State of Punjab and opposes the bail petition. 5.

Heard.

Taking into consideration the gravity of offence and the nature of allegations levelled against the petitioner, no ground for grant of anticipatory bail is made out, at this stage.
