ARUN MONGA, J. (ORAL) This is a petition for grant of anticipatory bail to petitioner in FIR No.153 dated 01.08.2020 under Section 61 of the Excise Act, registered at Police Station City Gurdaspur, District Gurdaspur.

As per allegations in the FIR, on secret information, raid was conducted by a police party and 50 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from the house of petitioner. The petitioner was present in her house at the time when raid was conducted, however, she managed to escape. 3.
Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that petitioner has been falsely implicated in the case. Nothing has been recovered from the petitioner. The petitioner is ready to join the investigation and will cooperate in all manner with the Investigating Agency.

Mr. Sidakmeet Sandhu, AAG, Punjab who has joined the proceedings on service of advance copy of the petition, appears on behalf of State of Punjab and opposes the bail petition on the ground that petitioner is involved in five other cases of similar nature. She is a habitual offender. 5.
Heard.

Taking into consideration the antecedents of the petitioner that she is involved in five other cases of similar nature, I do not deem it appropriate to grant the concession of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Being on bail in other cases, it is least expected of a bailee to yet again commit or be involved in similar offence.

Dismissed.
