Prayer in the present petition is for directing the respondents to grant regular parole to the petitioner for a period of 06 weeks as per the provisions of the Haryana Good Conduct Prisoners (Temporary Release) Act, 2022. A further prayer is made for directing respondents No.1 & 2 to decide the application dated 02.03.2026 of the petitioner seeking parole which is pending for consideration.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner was convicted in case bearing FIR No.122 dated 21.06.2013 registered under Section 302 read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 at Police Station Chhapar, District Yamuna Nagar vide judgment dated 31.07.2017 and order of sentence dated 01.08.2017 passed by Additional Sessions Judge, Yamuna Nagar at Jagadhri to undergo life imprisonment under Section 302 IPC.

Counsel for the petitioner contends that criminal appeal i.e. CRA-1075-DB-2017 preferred by the petitioner was dismissed by this Court vide order dated 11.04.2019. The petitioner is consequently undergoing his SANJAY 2026.05.04 11:31 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
CRWP-4964-2026 -2sentence at District Jail, Yamuna Nagar. He contends that an application dated 02.03.2026 was submitted by the petitioner to respondents No.1 & 2 seeking parole as per provisions of the Haryana Good Conduct Prisoners (Temporary Release) Act, 2022 but no decision has been taken thereon so far. He submits that he would be satisfied at this juncture, in case, the authorities are directed to take an expeditious decision by passing a reasoned and speaking order on his pending application/representation in a time bound manner.

Ms. Chhavi Sharma, AAG, Haryana accepts notice on behalf of the respondents-State and submits that she has no objection to the aforesaid prayer being granted.

Without commenting on merits of the case and with the consent of the parties, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent(s)-State to decide the pending application of parole of the petitioner within a period of 03 weeks of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
