The petitioner through instant petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to release compensation amounting to Rs.6 lac under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna (for short 'Yojna') for the Kharif season 2026. He is further seeking direction to respondents to place the matter before State Level Grievance Redressal Committee (for short 'Committee') for adjudication in terms of order passed in CWP-19752-2023.

The petitioner by virtue of being a farmer is holder of Kisan Credit Card account with State Bank of India. His cotton and bajra crops were damaged in Kharif 2016 season to the extent of 80%. He filed claim before the authorities for compensation under the Yojna but to no avail. He preferred application before Ld. CWP-13185-2026 -2dismissed his application on the ground that the remedy lies before the Committee. His claim for compensation has not been decided till date. 3.

Learned State counsel submits that competent authority would look into the matter and pass appropriate order within four weeks from today.
