The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents No.1 to 4 to take action against Lakhwant Singh who is posted as Zonal Licensing Authority (Drugs), Ferozepur for committing forgery and dereliction in duty.

As per pleadings, the petitioner is an association of chemists. It claims that respondent No.5 without being present in office is marking his presence. The signature in attendance register speaks itself. It is evident that a person other than respondent No.5 had marked his presence. The petitioner filed representation before civil surgeon. The petitioner was informed vide letter dated 29.12.2025 that inquiry committee has been formed to inquire the matter. Finding no concrete action, the petitioner approached Deputy Commissioner seeking action against him.

Learned State counsel submits that competent authority would look into the matter and take an appropriate action in accordance with law.
