**** HARNARESH SINGH GILL, J.(Oral) Prayer in this petition is for issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing respondent No.2 to conduct interview of the petitioner for the post of Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) English, in pursuance of the announcement made by the respondents vide Annexure P-4.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that against Advertisement No.4/2015, the petitioner had applied for the aforesaid posts online; that the petitioner was allotted roll No.28504796 vide admit card dated 21.03.2016; that the petitioner cleared the written test held on 27.03.2016 and was called for the interview on 23.05.2019 at 9:00 a.m. and that the petitioner was unable to appear in the interview, which was scheduled for 23.05.2019, due to ill-health of her infant child, who was 5 months old, at that time. CWP-15655-2019 (O&M) -2the petitioner on the said date was not intentional, rather it was for the reason mentioned above. He, thus, prays that another opportunity be granted to the petitioner to appear in the interview. On the other hand, learned State counsel submits that though a specific date was given to the petitioner to appear for the interview, yet she did not appear and accordingly, her candidature was not considered for further recruitment process and that the final result was declared on 16.10.2019. He further submits that the claim of the petitioner cannot be considered, at this stage, as there is no vacant seat left with the Department.

I have heard the learned counsel for the parties. It is not disputed that the petitioner could not appear for the interview slated for 23.05.2019 and accordingly, her candidature was rightly not considered by the Department concerned. The final result was declared on 16.10.2019.

Since, the petitioner did not appear for her interview on 23.05.2019, for any reason, her candidature for the post in question cannot be considered, at this belated stage. Above all, there is no vacant seat left with the Department.

Dismissed.
