The petitioner has filed this criminal writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 3(1)(d) of the Punjab Good Conduct Temporary Release Act, 1962 for directing the respondents for extension of parole to the petitioner for a period of four weeks with effect from 17.2.2015 i.e. due date of his surrender before the Central Jail, Jalandhar.
I have heard learned counsel for the petitioner and have gone through the record. The petitioner has placed on record a certificate from the private hospital stating that he is suffering from diabetes, hypertension etc.
The petitioner was already on parole from 5.1.2015 and he was to surrender on 17.2.2015. Seven days have already passed after the expiry HARPAL SINGH PARMAR 2015.02.25 16:22 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh
Cr. W.P. No.276 of 2015 [2] of the parole and the petitioner has not surrendered till today before the jail authorities. Therefore, I do not find any ground for extension of parole to the petitioner.
Finding no merit in this petition, the same is dismissed. February 24, 2015.
