(Oral) The present petition has been filed for issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing respondents No. 1 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondents No. 4 and 5. The petitioners are stated to be major and in a relation with each other. It has been submitted that since they both belong to different religions and they intend to solemnize marriage they apprehend threat to their life and liberty at the hands of the private respondents No. 4 and 5. Submits that representations dated 08.09.2020 (Annexures P4 and P5) in this regard have been made to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Fazilka. Notice of motion.
On the asking of the Court, Ms. Samina Dhir, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the State.

Keeping in view the limited prayer addressed by the learned counsel for the petitioners, the respondent No.2 i.e. Senior Superintendent of Police, Fazilka, is directed to look into the representations dated 08.09.2020 (Annexures P4 and P5) of the petitioners and take appropriate steps as requried in accordance with law.
Petition is disposed of.
