Dr. Rajinder Singh Atwal (Athwal), aged 72 years, son of Late S. Daljit Singh Athwal, resident of # 50, Doctor Colony, Bhadson Road, Patiala, who had retired from government service as Senior Medical Officer on 30.6.2007 is aggrieved by non revision of pension on the basis of correct qualifying period of 25 years. According to him, he had got served a legal notice dated 23.7.2021 (Annexure P-5) upon the official respondents for redressal of his grievances but that did not evoke any response, as such he has brought the present writ petition.

Notice of motion.

Mr. Arun Kaundal, DAG, Punjab has accepted notice on behalf of all the respondents.

Learned counsel for the petitioner states that petitioner would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the respondents to consider the PARVINDER SINGH 2021.08.16 15:25 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP No.15681 of 2021 grievances of the petitioner as detailed in the legal notice (Annexure P-5) and then to take appropriate action in the matter. Learned State counsel states that the official respondents would comply with any direction issued by this Court in that regard.

To enable the official respondents to consider the grievances of the petitioner so as to avoid unnecessary litigation, the present petition is disposed of directing the official respondents particularly respondent No. 7The Accountant General, Punjab (A&E), Sector 17, Chandigarh to consider the legal notice (Annexure P-5) as per rules and instructions on the subject and if it finds that some action in the matter is warranted then the needful be done within a period of two months from today.
