The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to issue him passport.

The petitioner vide application dated 06.11.2023 has applied for passport. He was embroiled in FIR No. 190 dated 30.09.2000, under Sections 324, 325, 148, 149 of IPC, registered at Police Station Jagraon, District Ludhiana. The police after completing investigation has filed Cancellation report. The petitioner is not involved in any other offence still passport authority is not issuing him passport. 3.

With the consent of both sides, the petition is taken up for final disposal.

Mr. Aman Dhir, DAG, Punjab concedes to the above-mentioned factual position.

Faced with this, Ms. Amrita Singh, Central Government Counsel submits that the passport authority would adjudicate application of the petitioner within eight weeks.

Learned counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement.

In the wake of statement of both sides, the petition stands disposed of.
