1. The petitioner has approached this Court seeking issuance of directions to respondent No.2 to protect his life and liberty as he had been receiving threats and ransom calls from an international telephone No.+1 (209) 2629269.

2. The petitioner had moved a representation dated 12.4.2023 (Annexure P-4) to Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar Rural, but to no avail.

3. Notice of motion.

4. At this stage, Ms. Swati Batra, DAG, Punjab, has put in appearance on behalf of respondent-State and accepts notice.

5. Learned State counsel, upon instructions from ASI Harjit Singh has informed that the representation has been got examined and an inquiry was conducted and a decision had been taken to provide one gun-man to the petitioner and that the said decision is likely to be implemented in a day or two. 6. Faced with the aforestated position, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he may be permitted to withdraw the instant petition with liberty to file afresh in case need be.

7. In view of the aforesaid request, the present petition is dismissed as withdrawn with liberty aforesaid.
