(ORAL) Case is taken up for hearing through video conferencing. This petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for directing respondents No. 1 to 5 to protect the petitioner from the illegal threatening and harassment being caused by respondents No. 6 to 10 and to protect his life and liberty from the hands of respondents No. 6 to 10. Learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner is residing alone in his house as his wife has already expired and his both sons are residing abroad. The private respondents are threatening and harassing the petitioner for one reason or the other and there is a regular threat to the life and liberty of the petitioner. He further submits that for redressal of his grievance, the petitioner has also made a representation dated 14.11.
2019 (Annexure P-1) to Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran, District Tarn Taran-respondent No. 3, which was marked to Deputy Superintendent of Police, Goindwal Sahib and vide inquiry report bearing No. 675-SAP dated 27.1.2020, the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Goindwal Sahib, had recommended the registration of the FIR but till date no action has been taken on the representation GURPREET SINGH 2021.08.

Notice of motion to respondents No. 1 to 5-State only. On the asking of the Court, Mr. H.S.Sitta, AAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the State.
Keeping in view the above, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran, District Tarn Taran-respondent No. 3 to decide the representation of the petitioner, dated 14.11.2019 (Annexure P-1) in accordance with law, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
