Grievance of the petitioners in this writ petition, with petitioner no.1 being the Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Jhinger Khurd, PO Jhinger Kalan, Tehsil Dasuya, District Hoshiarpur is that auction of Gram Panchayat land was not being conducted which would provide necessary revenue to the Gram Panchayat.
After the matter was adjourned on 22.07.2022, to enable learned counsel for the State to seek instructions, Block Development and Panchayat Officer, Dasuya who came present before Court on 22.07.2022, was directed to approach SSP, Hoshiarpur for necessary police force for carrying out the auction.
Compliance report by way of affidavit dated 17.08.2022 of Dhanwant Singh, BDPO, Dasuya, District Hoshiarpur filed in Court today is taken on record, subject to just exceptions.

CWP-15028-2022 -2- Learned counsel for the State submits that two out of three plots of the Panchayat land available for auction, have been auctioned. One plot i.e. Plot no.3 reserved for the SC community of the village, could not be auctioned as no bidder came present forward for the same. Auction for the said plot has been re-scheduled for 28.08.2022. It is further assured that in future necessary steps shall be taken to ensure timely auction of the Gram Panchayat land.
In this view of the matter, learned counsel for the petitioners is unable to deny that this writ petition is rendered infructuous. Ordered accordingly.
