Prayer in the instant civil writ petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus for directing the respondents to issue the passport to the petitioner. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that vide letter dated 19.06.2024 (Annexure P-1), certain clarification/information was asked from the petitioner regarding issuance of passport to him and even though the petitioner had respond to said letter, however, no action has been taken and even as per the online status of the passport application, the same is reflected as pending.

Mr. Yashpal Sharma, Advocate appears on behalf of the respondents/Union of India, in pursuance of the advance copy of paper book having already been supplied to him and on instructions from Mr. Janak Raj, submits that the petitioner can approach the Regional Passport Office, Jalandhar on 14.05.2025 at 11:00 A.M. and contact the officer/employee who is on duty at Room No.302 and provide the required clarification/ information/document, whereupon the application submitted by petitioner for issuance of passport would be considered and final decision would be taken thereon within a period of six weeks from the date when the aforesaid clarification/information/document is provided by the petitioner.

Keeping in view the aforesaid stand taken by the learned counsel for Union of India, the present writ petition is disposed of. 5.
