The petitioner has filed this criminal writ petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a writ of habeas corpus and directing the respondents No.1 to 6 to release the family members of the petitioner, namely respondents No.7 to 12 from their illegal detention.

Warrant Officer was appointed in this case on 09.09.2016 and a report has been submitted by the Warrant Officer. As per the report, the Warrant Officer visited the place on that very day. The petitioner along with other relatives, met him at Ludhiana. One of the relative of the petitioner, who introduced himself as Ranjeet Singh informed the Warrant Officer that he and his family i.e. respondents No.7 to 11 have already been released except Jatinder Singh respondent Vineet Gulati 2016.09.19 14:45 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh No.12.

CRWP No.1216 of 2016 -2As per the instructions of the petitioner and Ranjeet Singh, they reached the Anti Narcotic Cell, Ludhiana at about 9.50 P.M. but respondent No.12-Jatinder Singh was not found there. Then at the instance of petitioner, the Warrant Officer went to Police Station Haibowal, District Ludhiana, where again respondent No.12 was not found there. On asking to the petitioner whether he wants any other place to be searched, he refused and said that he does not want to search any other place. In view of the report submitted by the Warrant Officer, no further action is required in the present petition. Therefore, the present petition stands disposed of.
