Ms. Neha and Mr. Rinkesh, petitioners in person. **** H.S. GREWAL, J. (ORAL) CRM-W-640-2025 This application has been filed for seeking exemption from filing address proof of petitioner No.2 as he is temporarily residing at his relatives house due to looming threats from respondent No. 4 to 8. and he does not possess any proof of said residence. Allowed as prayed for.

Main case:

The petitioners are seeking a direction to the official respondents to protect their life and liberty as they apprehend danger from private respondents. It is stated in the petition that petitioners have performed their marriage, which is against the will of private respondents

and they have apprehension that the private respondents might cause physical harm to them.

Parties appear in person and submits that they are major and got married against the wishes of parents and relatives/private respondents. Ever since then, the petitioners are being threatened with dire consequences by the private respondents. Resultantly, they made a representation dated 03.05.2025 (Annexure P-6) to respondent No.2- Superintendent of Police, Nuh, wherein a mention has been made about the alleged threat perception. Petitioners submits that despite the official respondents having been communicated about the alleged threat perception, no steps have been taken to come to their rescue. They further submits that they would be satisfied if directions are issued to respondent No.2- Superintendent of Police, Nuh to look into their representation/complaint dated 03.05.2025 (Annexure P-6) and take appropriate steps at the earliest. 3.

Notice of motion to respondents No. 1 to 3 only. 4.

In view of the limited prayer made by the petitioners, this Court deemed it appropriate to decide the petition without issuing the notice to the private respondents and keeping in view the mandate of Supreme Court in the case of "Lata Singh V. State of U.P. and another", JT 2006 (6) SC 173, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2- Superintendent of Police, Nuh, to look into the matter and take appropriate action in accordance with law to ensure that no harm is caused to the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of private respondents.
