This is a petition filed under Section 439 Cr.P.C. seeking regular bail in a case registered against the petitioner vide FIR No. 13 dated 24.01.2017 under sections 307, 324, 323, 325 IPC at Police Station Lalru district SAS Nagar. Petitioner is incarcerated since 24.01.2017. Out of sixteen witnesses cited by the prosecution, six have been examined till now, one of whom has turned hostile. Trial may still take some time to conclude, thus, no useful purpose would be served by detaining the petitioner in custody during the pendency of trial.

Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this court feels that petitioner deserves to be enlarged on bail. Accordingly, petition is allowed and petitioner is directed to be enlarged on bail to the satisfaction of Trial court/Duty Magistrate and/or any other condition(s) as it may deem fit to impose.
