The petitioner prays for grant of pre-arrest bail in a criminal case arising from FIR No. 12 dated 05.08.2020, registered under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.1988, at Police Station Vigilance Bureau Bhatinda, District Bhatinda.

As per the case of the prosecution, the petitioner, an Assistant Sub Inspector in the Punjab Police, while discharging the duties of the Investigating Officer in FIR NO. 67 dated 12.04.2019 registered against the various persons, has accepted bribe of ₹43,000/- from the first informant in order to help her husband, who is one of the accused in the FIR.
