HARINDER SINGH SIDHU, J The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution seeking direction to respondent Nos.1 to 3 to provide protection to the lives and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of private respondent Nos.4 to 6.

It has been averred that the date of birth of petitioner No.1 is 03.07.2004 while date of birth of petitioner No.2 is 13.08.2002. Copies of Aadhar Cards of petitioner Nos.1 & 2 to this effect are attached as Annexures P-1 and P-2 respectively.

It is stated that while studying in B.A-Ist year, the petitioners fell in love with each other. Since parents of petitioner No.1 were adamant to marry her with an old aged person, she expressed her willingness to marry petitioner No.2. Having failed to convince her parents, petitioner No.1 left her home and since then they have been living together in live-in relationship. It is stated that as soon as petitioner No.2 turns 21 years, they will get married. CRWP No.6715 of 2022 #2# with this relationship, therefore, the petitioners apprehend danger to their lives at the hands of private respondents. In this regard, the petitioners have submitted representation dated 08.07.2022 (Annexure P-3) to respondent No.2 seeking protection of their lives and liberty at the hands of the private respondents.

After hearing counsel for the petitioners and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case or the legal status of the relationship of the petitioners the present petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2 to look into the said representation with regard to safeguarding life and liberty of the petitioners and take necessary action as may be necessary, in accordance with law.
