This petition has been filed by Karamvir Singh against State of Punjab and others under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India for releasing the detenue from the illegal custody of respondents No.2 to 6.

Vide order dated 01.02.2016, Warrant Officer, was appointed in this case. As per report of Warrant Officer, he visited Police Station Division No.6, District Ludhiana, on 01.02.2016, at 08:15 p.m., but the detenue was not found there. Then, the Warrant Officer asked the Duty Officer, who informed that a case vide No.13 dated 31.01.2016, copy of which is Annexure 'A', has already been registered against the detenue along with eight other persons, under Sections 294-A, 420, 120-B IPC, 7(3) of Lottery Regulation Act, 1998, 13A/3/67 of Gambling Act. He further stated that out of nine accused, only six accused have been arrested in the said case and were produced before the learned Illaqa Magistrate on 01.02.2016 and were sent for police remand upto 02.02.2016. In view of the report, submitted by the Warrant Officer, no further action is required to be taken in this petition. Disposed of accordingly.
