Petitioner has filed this petition under Section 438 Cr.P.C. for grant of anticipatory bail in case FIR No.441 dated 29.11.2017 under Section 61 of Punjab Excise Act, registered at Police Station Sector 17/18, District Gurugram.
I have heard learned counsel for the petitioner and have gone through the record.
The perusal of the record shows that petitioner absented from the proceedings on 23.04.2018. His bail was cancelled and bail bonds were forfeited. Thereafter, vide order dated 17.12.2018, he was declared proclaimed offender.
Keeping in view the above discussion and in view of the fact that there is no cogent explanation for such a long absence, I do not find it a VINEET GULATI 2019.07.16 09:55 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh
CRM No.M-26108 of 2019 -2fit case where petitioner is entitled to benefit of anticipatory bail. Therefore, finding no merit in the present petition, the same is dismissed.
