**** Rajan Gupta, J. (Oral) This petition emanated from an order passed on 07.04.2015 by co-ordinate Bench (Amol Rattan Singh, J.) on the Administrative side. The question involved is regarding prompt disposal of contraband recovered by the police in various cases in terms of the provisions of the NDPS Act. Admittedly, Hon'ble Supreme Court has already laid down guidelines in a judgment in 'Union of India versus Mohanlal and another, (2016) 3 SCC 379'.

Learned counsel appearing for respective States of Punjab, Haryana and U.T., submit that they shall comply with the directions given by the Hon'ble Supreme court in letter and spirit and shall submit half yearly status report in the registry of this court.
