IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA

AT CHANDIGARH CWP-3893-2021 (O&M) Date of decision : 19.02.2021 Raminder Sidhu ... Petitioner(s)

Versus

The State of Punjab and others ... Respondent(s)

CORAM:

HON'BLE MRS. JUSTICE ALKA SARIN

Present:

Ms. Anupama Sharma, Advocate for the petitioner. **** ALKA SARIN, J. (ORAL) Heard through video conferencing.

Prayer in the present Civil Writ Petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for the issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to revise the Grade Pay of the petitioner from 10300-34800+3800 to 10300-34800+4200 with effect from 01.12.2011 as per the Punjab Government Notification dated 21.12.2011 (Annexure P-3) with all consequential benefits.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would contend that employees who had joined later than the petitioner on the same post are getting higher pay scale. She would further contend that in this regard a representation dated 18.02.2020 (Annexure P-6) has been sent to the Director, Directorate of Health and Family Welfare Punjab-respondent No.3. However, neither any order has been passed nor any action has been taken on the said representation. The counsel for the petitioner would further contend that she limits her prayer in the present petition and would be satisfied if a direction is issued to respondent No.3 to decide the representation dated 18.02.2020 (Annexure P-6) by passing a speaking order in a time-bound manner.
