NIDHI GUPTA, J. (ORAL) Prayer in the present petition filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. is for issuance of directions to the trial Court to decide the cancellation report filed in case FIR No. 0079 dated 30.12.2016 registered under Section 376 IPC at Police Station Women Cell, Amritsar, in a time bound manner.

Status report dated 28.08.2023, filed by way of affidavit of Sh. Rakesh Kumar, PPS, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime Against Women and Children), Amritsar City, on behalf of respondentState of Punjab, is taken on record. A copy thereof, has been supplied to learned counsel for the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the State submits that as per averments made in para 8 of the status report, the instant petition has been rendered RISHU KATARIA 2023.08.31 20:13 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CRM-M-29200-2023 -22023:PHHC:112810 infructuous, as after completion of investigation, the police had presented the cancellation report before the trial Court on 18.10.2021, but the learned trial Court vide order dated 04.07.2023 (Annexure R-1) has rejected the cancellation report and the petitioner was summoned to face trial under Section 376 IPC for 01.09.2023. Learned counsel for the petitioner does not dispute the aforesaid facts and prays that accordingly, no further direction is warranted in the present matter.

In view of the above, the instant petition is disposed of as having been rendered infructuous.
