-RESPONDENTS

CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE KULDEEP TIWARI

Present:

Mr. Rajeev Dev Sharma, Advocate for the petitioners.

Mr. Sahil R. Bakshi, A.A.G., Punjab.

*** KULDEEP TIWARI, J. (ORAL) 1.

The relief yearned through the instant writ petition is the issuance of a direction to the respondents to implement the provisions contained in the Notification dated 19.05.1998 and, consequentially, to grant promotions of Grade-I and Grade-II along with all consequential benefits, as have been extended to similarly situated employees of Ranjit Sagar Dam, Shahpur Kandi.

2.

During the pendency of the writ petition, an affidavit was filed on behalf of the respondents, wherein a serious objection was raised with regard to the eligibility of the petitioners for promotion. 3.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that since the issue of eligibility had not been raised earlier, he may be permitted to withdraw the instant writ petition, with liberty to approach the competent authority in the first instance by way of a comprehensive representation, so as to establish the petitioners' eligibility for promotion. CWP-10886-2014 4.
