(ORAL) The petitioner has preferred this writ petition for the issuance of an appropriate writ in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondent No.3 to consider the application dated 10.10.2021 filed by the petitioner for the renewal of permit No.312/Reg/96.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the aforesaid route permit was granted to the petitioner firm on the route Ferozepur to Sri Muktsar Sahib. The route permit was valid up to 28.04.2001. For renewal of the route permit, requisite fee had also been deposited along with application dated 10.10.2001. The renewal of the aforesaid stage carriage permit was not considered by the respondent No.3 for want of
-2No Due Certificate. During pendency of the aforesaid application, the petitioner made a representation to the respondent No.3 for granting exemption from payment of taxes as the vehicle and the permit remained non-functional after nonrenewal of the permit. Representations filed by the petitioner were ultimately considered by the competent authority on 28.03.2023 and necessary exemption was granted from payment of taxes and consequently No Due Certificate was issued on 28.03.2023. After getting the clearance of tax in the form of No Due Certificate, the petitioner immediately made request for renewal of the permit on 31.03.2023 and the same was also followed by a legal notice dated 22.04.2023 but till date no action has been taken .
At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that the petitioner would be satisfied in case his legal notice dated 22.04.2023 is directed to be considered and decided by the respondent No.3 in accordance with law in a time bound manner.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. Sanjeev Soni, Addl. A.G., Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondents and submits that the legal notice of the petitioner dated 22.04.2023 shall be considered by the competent authority in accordance
-3with law preferably within a period of one month from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
