Through the present petition, the petitioner seeks a direction to the respondents that he be granted the selection grade, which admittedly accrued on 16.12.1988.

The present writ petition has been filed after over 26 years from the date of accrual of the alleged cause of action in favour of the petitioner.

C. W. P. No. 10412 of 2015 2 If this was not enough, the petitioner had retired on 31.12.2001 and the present writ petition has been filed after over 13 years of his retirement.

No worthwhile reason has been given in the writ petition so as to why the petitioner did not approach this Court earlier. In view of the above, the present writ petition is ordered to be dismissed on the ground of delay and laches.
