The petitioners have approached this Court seeking to challenge acquisition of land. Notifications under Sections 4 and 6 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 were issued on 14.8.2013 and 13.8.2014, respectively. The purpose for which the land was sought to be acquired is for open space in Sectors 76 to 95, 99 & 102A at Gurgaon. Learned counsel for the State submitted that after reconsidering the entire matter, the Government has decided to drop the acquisition proposed to be carried out vide aforesaid notifications. In view of the aforesaid stand taken by learned counsel for the State, the prayer made in the writ petition has been rendered infructuous and the same is disposed of accordingly.
