MANJARI NEHRU KAUL, J. (ORAL) Prayer in the instant petition filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of directions to the official respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner had been incarcerated following the registration of some criminal cases against him. However, on 08.09.2023, after the petitioner was enlarged on bail, he was communicated through the official respondent (respondent No.4) that since there was a threat to his life and hence, he should restrict his movement and confine himself at home. Learned counsel submits that in the circumstances, an email dated 13.10.2023 was sent to respondent No.3 and thereafter, again on 20.05.2024 seeking security for him as well as his family in view of the serious threat perception, however, the authorities concerned had failed to take any action on his email/representation. 3.

CRWP-5193-2024 -2be issued to respondent No.3-Additional Director General of Police (Security), Punjab, to look into the threat perception and take steps to ensure that life and liberty of the petitioner is not jeopardized. 3.

Notice of motion to official respondents only. 4.

On asking of the Court, Mr. Navdeep Singh, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents.

In the wake of the prayer of the petitioner, the instant petition is disposed of and respondent No.3-Additional Director General of Police (Security), Punjab, is directed to look into the grievance of the petitioner and take appropriate steps, if any required, at the earliest, to ensure that the life and liberty of the petitioner is not jeopardized.
