Prayer in the present petition is for issuance of a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus with a prayer to produce the detenue-Sukhpreet Kaur, daughter of the petitioners, who is stated to be in the illegal custody of respondent Nos.6 to 9.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. Gorav Kathuria, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondent Nos.1 to 5-State and upon instructions from ASI Harwinder Pal Singh, P.S. Bhikhiwind, informs that the alleged detenue-Sukhpreet Kaur has solemnized marriage with respondent No.6Manjit Singh on 25.03.2025. It is further informed that said Sukhpreet Kaur has even filed a complaint under Sections 115, 351(2), 351(3) and 3(5) of BNS, 2023 before the Area Magistrate, Ferozepur and her statement as CW1 has been recorded by the Area Magistrate on 02.04.2025. A copy each of the afore statement of Sukhpreet Kaur recorded by the Area Magistrate and the Marriage Certificate dated 25.03.2025 have been submitted in the Court, which are taken on record. Faced with the above situation, learned counsel for the petitioners wishes to withdraw the present petition with liberty to avail appropriate remedy, as per law.
