On 11.08.2025 the following order was passed : 'Learned State counsel on instructions from Dr. Anita Gupta, SMO, PHC Ranjit Bagh, Gurdaspur states that arrears have since been released to the petitioner. However, he candidly admits that no interest has been awarded though in the order dated 11.12.2024 passed in CWP-1604-2023 it was specifically held that the petitioner would be entitled to interest on the arrears of family pension. He further states that since the interest component has not been defined hence no interest has been paid. He, however, seeks some time to get instructions.

Learned counsel for respondents No.1, 3 and 4, on instructions from Dr. Anita Gupta, SMO, PHC, Ranjit Bagh, Gurdaspur states that the respondents are ready and willing to pay interest @ 6% on the arrears. However, the same is not acceptable to the learned counsel for the petitioner. 3.

In view thereof, no further orders are required to be passed in the present contempt petition and the same is disposed off as such. Rule stands discharged. Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed off. 4.

Needless to say, the petitioner would always be at liberty to avail her remedies as available in law.
