Mr. Luvinder Sofat, AAG, Punjab ANIL KSHETARPAL, J(Oral) Prayer in the petition is to release the petitioner on bail. Petitioner is accused in FIR No.261 dated 01.11.2017, registered under Sections 22/61/85 of the NDPS Act, at Police Station Patran, District Patiala.

Learned counsel appearing for the State of Punjab, on instructions from HC Sukhjinder Singh, has submitted that majority of witnesses have been examined by the prosecution and the next date fixed is 09.04.2019 on which date sincere efforts would be made to conclude the evidence. He further submits that the Investigating Officer has been examined.

As per the affidavit filed, there are numbers of case against the petitioner, out of which he has been acquitted only in one case, whereas he has been convicted in 9 cases.

Hence, there is no ground to release the petitioner on bail. The present petition is dismissed.
