(Oral) Learned State counsel has filed status report by way of affidavit of Sh. Amarjit Singh, DSP, Sub Division Kotkapura which is taken on record.

In the light of the stand of the State taken therein and the contentions of the learned State counsel that the police had made best of the efforts by publishing public notices in newspapers, electronic media, local cable TV, circulation of pamphlets to know the whereabouts of Lachhman Singh son of Nasib Kaur. It is further contended that the police has even contacted the lawyer of the missing person who has shown his ignorance and on the fateful day had never contacted or attended court hearing. The submissions that earlier the family of the missing person has named one Dalbir Singh Tiwana 2016.09.14 11:41 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh.

Criminal Writ Petition No. 936 of 2016 -2Pardeep Singh as a suspect who too has been interrogated and questioned by the police but nothing concrete has come to light. It is well highlighted in the reply which is reiterated by the State counsel that said missing person was wanted in case FIR No. 145 dated 4.9.2012 under sections 379,411 IPC pertaining to Police Station City Kotkapura had never attended the court hearing since 1.6.2016 and has already been proceeded under sections 82/83 Cr.P.C. by the concerned court. Thus a contrivance and in contradiction to petitioner's allegations. Thus, in the totality the police had made best of the efforts in tracing this missing person Lachhman Singh which is also conceded to at the Bar by counsel for the petitioner. Thus, in view of the same nothing tangible can be accomplished through this petition which apparently is motivated. and the same stands dismissed. However, the police is directed to make necessary entry in their records about this missing person. ( Fateh Deep Singh ) August 23, 2016 Judge 'tiwana'
