IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB & HARYANA
AT CHANDIGARH CRM-M-28691-2023 Date of decision: 01.06.2023 Rajeev Nanda .....Petitioner
Versus
State of Punjab and others .....Respondents CORAM: HON'BLE MRS. JUSTICE MANJARI NEHRU KAUL Present :
Mr. Sushant Kareer, Advocate for the petitioner.
**** MANJARI NEHRU KAUL , J. (ORAL) 1.
The petitioner is praying for issuance of directions to the trial Court to decide the case pending before learned JMIC, Jalandhar expeditiously.
2.
Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that after the chargesheet was filed before the trial Court on 13.07.2021, charges had still not been framed, rather the case was being adjourned on one pretext or the other on almost every date. Learned counsel thus, prays that appropriate directions be issued to the trial court to decide the case expeditiously in a time bound manner.
3.
Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the material placed on record.
4.
A perusal of the zimni orders, which have been annexed as Annexure P-5 reveals that no doubt, initially on some dates the case was adjourned but that was on account of the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic. SONIA BURA 2023.06.02 10:04 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
