(ORAL) Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that a complaint which has been filed by the complainant-Amarjit Singh (respondent No.6) before the Economic Offences Wing, Fatehagarh Sahib cannot be allowed to proceed for want of the jurisdiction as the allegations alleged in the complaint relates to District Amritsar. Learned counsel for the petitioners further submits that complainant Amarjit Singh is not residing in Fatehagarh Sahib, but is residing in Panchkula. Learned counsel for the petitioners argues that in respect of the said fact, petitioners have already raised the grievance before the higher authority i.e. respondent No.2 by filing a representation dated 27.07.2021 (Annexure P-9), which is still pending consideration with the said authority and the petitioners will be satisfied, at this stage, in case a NARESH KUMAR 2021.08.19 16:13 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

Mr. Sandeep Kumar, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, who has joined the proceedings through video conference, keeping in view the service of advance copy of petition accepts notice on behalf of respondent-State.
Learned State counsel raises no objection with regard to prayer of the petitioners for deciding the representation dated 27.07.2021 (Annexure P-9) by respondent No.2 in a time bound manner by passing an appropriate speaking order.
In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case or the claim being made by the petitioners in representation dated 27.07.2021 (Annexure P-9), respondent No.2 is directed to decide the representation dated 27.07.2021 (Annexure P-9) by passing a speaking order within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
Present writ petition stands disposed of.
