The application sent by Gurpreet Singh to the Hon'ble Chief Justice is taken on judicial side.
In the application, Gurpreet Singh stated that his brother namely Parampreet Singh was taken by the police of Civil Lines, Amritsar on Sunday at 4.00 P.M.
Notice of motion was issued and learned State counsel was directed to get the matter enquired and to file the status report. Reply by way of affidavit of Assistant Commissioner of Police, North, Amritsar City has been filed, in which it is stated that on 19.07.2016, Parampreet Singh, brother of the petitioner was arrested in case FIR No.310 dated 19.07.2016 under Sections 22 of the NDPS Act and Sections 379/411 Vineet Gulati 2016.08.31 15:33 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh IPC registered at Police Station Civil Lines, Amritsar City. He was
CRWP No.996 of 2016 -2produced before the Court of competent jurisdiction on 20.07.2016 and was taken on one day police remand.
It is also in the reply that on 24.07.2016, accused Parampreet Singh got recovered looted gold necklace etc. and now, he is in judicial custody.
Keeping in view the reply that Parampreet Singh, brother of the petitioner is in judicial custody, therefore, no further action is required in this case and the same is disposed of.
