The petitioner through instant petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent No.1 to 3 to issue him electricity connection with immediate effect as he had applied for the same on 24.04.2023 but to no avail. He is further seeking direction to official respondents to take legal action against private respondent No. 4 who had stolen three electricity poles.

The petitioner is a resident of village Jodha Nagri, Post Office Dairywala Tehsil, District Amritsar. On 24.04.2023 he applied for a domestic one kilowatt electricity connection to PSPCL office, Jandiala Guru Division, Sub Station Tangra, District Amritsar. He deposited requisite fee Rs.2,286/- and Rs.876/- for the same on two occasions i.e. 24.04.2023 and 30.05.2023. He approached the concerned department time and again but to no avail.

On being pointed out authorities constituted under Section 42(5) of Electricity Act, 2003, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks permission to withdraw the petition with liberty to approach appropriate Forum as permissible by law.
