JASGURPREET SINGH PURI , J. (ORAL ) Present writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking a direction to respondent Nos.2 to 4, to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners which are in danger at the hands of respondent Nos.6 to 8.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioners are being constantly harassed and threatened by the private respondents especially respondent No.6 who is the daughter-in-law. The petitioner has submitted that they had disowned their son and daughter-in -law from the movable and immovable property vide news item dated RAJ KUMAR ARORA 2020.09.22 10:29 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRWP-7337-2020 (O&M) 29.6.2020 due to which the petitioners who are old parents are being threatened by the private respondents. He has further submitted that the petitioner had given a complaint to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala, (Annexure P3), but no action has been taken in this regard. Notice of motion to respondent Nos.1 to 4, only at this stage.

Mr.A.A.Pathak, Addl. AG, Punjab, accepts notice and states that he has no objection in case a direction is issued to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala, for deciding the complaint/representation (Annexure P3).

I have heard the learned counsel for the parties through video conference.

The present petition can be disposed of at this stage, taking into consideration the averments made in the petition as well as the apprehension raised by the learned counsel for the petitioners. The present petition is disposed of with a direction to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala, to decide and dispose of the complaint/representation (Annexure P3), in accordance with law, within a period of 3 weeks from today by passing a speaking order. Needless to say that a copy of order shall be supplied to the petitioners by way of registered post.
