(Oral) The grievance, which is being raised by the petitioners in the present petition is that the proper investigation is not being done in respect of FIR No.78 dated 18.07.2020 under Sections 302 and 34 IPC registered at Police Station Phool, Bathinda, District Bathinda. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that one of the co-accused namely, Jagdev Singh is yet to be arrested and no efforts are being made by the police to arrest him despite the lapse of more than two months.
Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners have already raised the said grievance before the Senior Superintendent of Police, Bathinda vide representation dated 09.09.2020 (Annnexure P/2), which is still pending consideration with him and the petitioner will be satisfied, at this stage, in case a time bound direction be given to respondent No.3 to decide the said representation by passing an appropriate speaking NARESH KUMAR 2020.09.17 17:07 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

Mr. Sandeep Singh Deol, DAG, Punjab who has joined the proceedings through video conference, keeping in view the service of advance copy of petition accepts notice on behalf of respondent-State. Learned State counsel submits that he has no objection with regard to the prayer of the petitioner for directing respondent No.3 to decide the representation dated 09.09.2020 (Annexure P/2) in a time bound manner.
In view of the request made, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case or the claim being made by the petitioners, the respondent No.3 is directed to decide representation dated 09.09.2020 (Annexure P/2) by passing an appropriate speaking order within a period of six weeks and in case, any action needs to be taken as per the decision so taken, the same will also be taken expeditiously.
