IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA AT

CHANDIGARH CWP No. 11102 of 2015 Date of decision: 15.09.2015 Rakesh Kumar and another ....Petitioner(s)

Versus

State of Punjab and others

...Respondent(s)

CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE G.S.SANDHAWALIA

Present:

Mr. Saurabh Bhardwaj, Advocate, for the petitioners.

G.S.SANDHAWALIA, J. (Oral) The petitioners' claim is for consideration for promotion to the post of Master on the strength of similar relief having been granted to their alleged junior namely Vipan Kumar Singla-respondent no. 4, who was promoted on 31.03.2010 (Annexure P-2) by the District Education Officer (Secondary Education), Mansa.

It is the case of the petitioners that they had filed representations separately on 12.11.2011 (Annexure P-3) and on 22.04.2012 (Annexure P-4) but no decision has been taken on the same. Counsel submits that he would be satisfied at this stage if a direction is issued to the respondents to take a decision on the said representations within a time bound frame.

Accordingly, keeping in view the limited relief sought and without going into the merits of the case, this Court does not feel necessary to call upon the respondents to file reply.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent no. 1 to take into consideration representations dated 12.11.2011 (Annexure P-3) and 22.04.2012 (Annexure P-4) and decide the same within a period of 3 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of the order. Needless to say that in case the relief is to be denied, the order should contain reasons.
