Both the petitioners who are working as Law Officers in the office of respondent no.2-Advocate General,Punjab filed instant writ petition inter alia for issuance of direction to respondent state to frame a policy/lay down guidelines for making appointments/absorption/redesignation of law officers in the office of respondent no.2.

At the time of hearing today, learned counsel for the parties state in unison that the issue involved herein has been settled once for all by Hon'ble the Supreme Court of India in Civil Appeal No.3194/2016 titled State of Punjab v Brijeshwar Singh Chahal and Rajinder Parshad Joshi 2017.05.10 15:26 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP 20000/2011 2 another, decided on 30.3.2016 directing the respondent State to frame proper guidelines in the light of observations in the judgment;and in compliance thereof State Government has promulgated enactment.
