(Oral) The petition has been filed, inter alia, seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's claim for promotion to the post of Professor under the Career Advancement Scheme, 2022, notified vide memo dated 11.11.2022, Annexure P-2. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner's case was recommended, vide memo dated 09.08.2023, by Principal of the concerned College for award of Professor designation (Academic Level-14) in terms of memo dated 11.11.2022, however, no action has been taken by the respondents so far.

Learned State counsel contends that the petitioner retired from service with effect from 30.09.2022, and the memo based upon which the designation of Professor has been claimed, was issued subsequently. No benefit in terms thereof can be given to the petitioner. 4.

It is not disputed that the petitioner superannuated from service prior to issuance of notification dated 11.11.2022, prescribing that incumbent SONIA BURA 2025.05.16 16:26 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP-13693-2025 Associate Professors, who have completed three years in service as on 01.01.2016 shall be re-designated as Professor and placed at appropriate Academic Pay Level, subject to fulfilment of other conditions laid down. Apparently, the said notification was applicable only to the incumbent Associate Professors, whereas the petitioner was not in service when it was issued. Therefore, no ground is made out to entertain the present petition. 5.

Dismissed in limine.
