(ORAL) The petitioner has approached this Court under Section 482 Cr.P.C., seeking issuance of directions to official respondents to file status report in DDR No.07 dated 03.05.2020 at Police Station Sector-36, Chandigarh and register an FIR under Sections 306/506/120-B IPC and take legal action by arresting the accused persons who induced the deceased to commit suicide. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioner is a poor person having three daughters and one son. On the intervening night of 02/03.05.2020, his daughter namely Komal committed suicide by hanging herself. The matter was reported to police and names of the suspects were also given to the police. But police did not take any action. In the circumstances, the petitioner also submitted a representation, Annexure P-3, yet no further action has been taken till date. Hence, the petition. 3.

Mr. Luvinder Sofat, AAG, Punjab, who has joined proceedings, on service of advance copy of petition, accepts notice on behalf of respondent no.1 and rightly submits that State of Punjab has been wrongly made a party herein, as the case pertains to U.T., Chandigarh. However, none appears for respondents no.2-7/officials of the U.T. despite advance service of copy of the petition.

Be that as it may, given the nature of order being passed, there is no necessity to seek return by any of the respondents as no further proceedings and/or pleadings are required.

Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the petition is disposed of with a direction to the competent authority/respondent No.7 i.e. S.H.O., that in case any complaint/representation (Annexure P-3) has been received in his office, he shall objectively consider the same. In the event it is found by him that any action is warranted, he shall proceed in accordance with law.
