RITU BAHRI, J. (ORAL) Learned counsel for the State has placed on record a short reply by way of affidavit of the Tehsil Social Justice and Empowerment Officer, Rajpura-respondent No. 6. She has also placed on record a copy of order dated 27.12.2021, whereby the Director, Rural Development and Panchayat, Punjab, has removed the petitioners from the posts of Sarpanch and Panch.

A copy of this order has been handed over to learned counsel for the petitioners as well.

In the present case, the petitioners were seeking quashing of enquiry report (Annexure P-12) which was being held into the election of petitioners who were elected as Sarpanch and Panch, respectively on RISHU KATARIA 2022.06.02 10:41 I agree to specified portions of this document

As per reply filed by the respondent-State, the State Level Scrutiny Committee, had conducted the enquiry on the wrongful act committed by the petitioners and gave its report dated 22.11.2021 (Annexure R-1), finding that the petitioners' SC certificates were forged. As per the aforesaid report, the committee came to the conclusion that according to the report of Vigilance Cell, Mr. Pali Ram son of Ram Chand belongs to Rajput (Nahar) and Kashmir Chand S/o Bali Ram belongs to Rajput (Majoka) caste. They got prepared their caste certificates for belonging to 'Oud' caste wrongfully. The Committee had decided to revoke and confiscate the Scheduled Caste Certificates of the petitioners. After this report, an order dated 27.12.2021 was passed and the petitioners were removed from the posts of Sarpanch and Panch. In view of the above, no further direction is required to be given in the instant writ petition and the same stands disposed of, accordingly.
