RAJIVE BHALLA, J (Oral) The petitioners' short grievance is that their representations (Annexures P-2, P-7 and P-8), levelling serious allegations of corruption against the Sarpanch of Village Dangheri, Tehsil Amloh, District Fatehgarh Sahib, have not been considered by the Deputy Commissioner, Fatehgarh Sahib.

We have heard counsel for the petitioners and in view of the limited nature of the prayer, dispose of the writ petition by granting liberty to the petitioners to file a fresh application before the Deputy Commissioner, Fatehgarh Sahib, who, if empowered, under the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994, shall consider the application, in accordance with law. If, however, the Deputy Commissioner, is not empowered to take cognizance of the allegations, he shall forward the application to the appropriate authority.
