(ORAL) By way of this writ petition, petitioners seek direction to the respondents to refund the amount of contribution made by them towards the Contributory Provident Fund along with interest accrued thereon. Learned counsel for the petitioners herein would contend that this Court in CWP No.10156 of 2019 titled as 'Narvinder Singh and others Vs. State of Punjab and others' decided on 22.04.2019 filed by the similar set of employees had directed the concerned authorities to consider their claim and take necessary steps at the earliest. However, due to failure of the respondents in taking any decision on their claim in the aforesaid writ petition, a contempt petition was preferred bearing COCP No.3388 of 2019, which was disposed of by the contempt court in view of the instructions received from Dy.

Controller (F&A), O/o DGP, Punjab stating that case of the petitioners therein for refund of Contributory Provident Fund shall be processed and forwarded to the Disbursing Agency. It was further stated that the amount would be credited in their account within six weeks from the date of order.

CWP No.14941 of 2020 (O&M) -2Counsel for the petitioners herein would contend that claim of the petitioners herein is similar as had been raised by the petitioners in CWP No.10156 of 2019 & COCP No.3388 of 2019.

Ms. Simran Grewal, AAG, Punjab, who is present in Court through the medium of video conferencing, accepts notice for the respondents.

Keeping in view the limited prayer made by the petitioners and the orders passed by this Court in CWP No.10156 of 2019 and COCP No.3388 of 2019, the instant writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the claim of the petitioners and if found in order, the amount of contributory provident fund along with interest accrued thereon shall be refunded to them within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
