*** HARSH BUNGER, J. (Oral) The instant Writ Petition has been filed under Articles 226 and 227 of the Constitution of India inter alia seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus for directing respondent No.2 to issue passport to the petitioner.

Learned counsel appearing for respondent No.2, while referring to letter dated 11.01.2024 (Annexure P-5), submits that since there was a FIR No.58, dated 16.03.2018, registered under the Copyrights Act, 1957 at Police Station Kotwali, Bathinda against the petitioner, therefore, the passport authorities had sought clarifications in that regard from the petitioner which has not been responded to by the petitioner till date. 3.

On the other hand, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner contends that in response to letter dated 11.01.2024 (Annexure P-5), HIMANI GUPTA 2025.05.29 18:32 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document/judgment High Court, Chandigarh

CWP-13395-2025 (O&M) -2whereby the clarifications were sought from the petitioner, the petitioner has already submitted a detailed representation dated 19.03.2025 (Annexure P-6) and that the same may be considered as a response to letter dated 11.01.2024 (Annexure P-5) on his behalf.

At this stage, learned counsel for respondent No.2 submits that the concerned passport authorities shall consider the representation dated 19.03.2025 (Annexure P-6), submitted by the petitioner in response to letter dated 11.01.2024 (Annexure P-5) and take a final decision thereon within a period of two months from today.

Keeping in view the aforesaid statement made by learned counsel for respondent No.2, the present petition stands disposed of accordingly.
